高二英語語法講解：關于定語從句的三個問答

　　問：that可以用作關系副詞嗎?

　　答：that引導定語從句，除了用作關系代詞外，也可用作關系副詞。這種用法見于下面兩種情況：

　　①先行詞是表示時間的名詞時，可用that 代替when引導定語從句，that也可以省略。例如：

　　I left the day that she came. 她來的那天，我走了。

　　He was my good friend during the years that I was in the countryside.他是我在農(nóng)村時期的好朋友。

　　It’s time (that) we went to bed.是我們就寢的時候了。

　　②先行詞是表示原因或方式的名詞時，that相當于介詞+which，可以引導的定語從句，that也可以省略。例如：

　　She likes the child for the very reason that (=for which) she loves his father. 她喜歡那孩子的原因是正是她愛他的父親的原因。

　　He didn’t like the way that (=in which) she speaks to his mother. 他不喜歡她對他的母親那樣說話。

　　Imagine the speed that (=at which) he drives the car. 很難想象，他開車開得那么快。

　　The reason (that /for which /why) he came here was to ask for our help.他來這里的原因是尋求我們的幫助。
